Are You Looking For An Inspiring Location To Write Your Book?

Join us in the Andalucian Mountains, Spain: 21-26 September 2017

  • 1.

Imagine 5 days in the sun working on your book, without being distracted by all of your other urgent stuff.

  • 2.

Benefit from the support and inspiration from two experienced coaches, mentors and authors, with guilt-free time to focus on your writing.

  • 3.

Whether you need uninterrupted time to write or facilitated time to get your ideas and thoughts clear, this is a unique space for you to follow your heart and learn to do what works for you.

It never surprises me that no matter how much you plan and schedule time for writing, other things get in the way and there's never enough time to get it done.

When your motivation wanders off, it is so easy to get stuck and put your book on the back burner for far longer than you ever intended.

You might get focused on the emotional blocks that prevent you from showing up and doing your best work. Fear of what others will say... What if people don’t like what you write? What if you can’t sell it?

If you are fed up of starting your book but not finishing it, getting stuck in the process, or you're so busy caring for others and never putting your own needs first, then our writing retreat in Spain is the perfect space for you to get a focused time to write.

This is your chance to make you, your book and your business a priority.

Our writing retreats offer space and time away from the distractions of day-to-day life, blended perfectly with downtime to reflect and relax.

You can step back from reality and spend time with other writers who understand the pain and the desire of getting a book finished, and you can spend time on your own guilt-free.

You can write safe in the knowledge that an experienced and knowledgeable book mentor is just a few steps away if you need one-to-one support.

If you know you have to get away and you hate the thought of being somewhere entirely on your own, then this retreat is for you.

If you need the balance of time to write and interaction to inspire your thinking, then you need to join us.

You can get your ideas out of your head, and give your brain the space to be creative.

You'll leave with a clearer understanding of what you need to get it finished. And you never know, you may even get it finished whilst you're away.

I want you to imagine having your book in your hand, getting increased visibility, and more client bookings. You'll be attracting clients who already know what you do and how you work, so you no longer have to sell, you simply attract. Then what happens?

Please join me, Karen Williams, and my team who will ensure you experience a beautiful, inspiring and soul nourishing environment.

All you need to do is write your book!

This will be our fourth time in the beautiful Andalucian mountains in South West Spain. Supported by our local guide and coaching retreat expert, Rebecca Adams, you are guaranteed to experience something quite special.

The mountains, the fresh air and even the local laid-back way of life will inspire you to just be with yourself, your thoughts and your book.

Not only will you get plenty of time to put words down on paper, you will also benefit from the opportunity of peer support over dinner, and guided walks if you want to explore and stretch your legs.

You'll be prepared for the retreat before you arrive, so that you get the most out of the experience. Your trip is fully inclusive from the time you arrive in Malaga. You'll be looked after by my team and I in beautiful typically Spanish accommodation with food and drinks included. All YOU need to do is write your book!

Thanks to writing my books, I can now do more of what I love in beautiful locations like this. I would love to inspire you to create the perfect book and freedom for your business.

I am delighted to be collaborating with Sheryl Andrews, The Strength and Solution Detective. She joined us in 2015 to work on her first book, Manage your Critic: From Overwhelm to Clarity in 7 Steps, which was published in 2016. Sheryl will be on hand to support you when you need to gain greater clarity and confidence in yourself and your message.

I attended Karen's writing retreat for the first time in Sept 2015 and if I am honest I had unrealistic expectations that I would pull together all my thoughts in just 5 days.

I knew that writing a book would bring up all kinds of personal demons and fear and this was just the perfect space to work through them. The facilitation, discussion and guidance were exquisite. What I gained from the retreat was massive personal growth and an inner confidence in my own unique writing style, a better understanding of the structure and framework needed for the book and greater confidence in myself as a writer. I have left the retreat with a clear deadline to publish the book and have every confidence with the continued support of Karen that I will achieve that.

Now I've published my books, I have returned as a co-facilitator, because I know the power of having a book, and I can’t think of a better space to help Karen's clients to develop their story and achieve their goals.

This is what's included in the writing retreat

This is a fully inclusive programme, designed to give you the time and space to plan, write and develop your book, as well as individual and group support. Plus you'll have the chance for mountain walks, interesting conversations, and time to be.

To get you ready for the retreat and keep you motivated, this includes:

  • Bonus 90 minute one-to-one Book Strategy call before the retreat (value £197).
  • Free access to the 10,000 Word Summer Book Challenge in August to get you ready for the event.
  • One hour group webinar prior to the retreat to get you focused.
  • Private Facebook group support exclusively for retreat members so that you can get to know each other before the trip and keep in touch when you get back.
  • 30 minute clarity call with Sheryl following the retreat.
  • 60 days email support following your return to review your progress and keep you motivated.

At the retreat, you get:

  • Five nights accommodation (full-board) with four full days and two part-days to write, with individual and group mentoring from Karen and Sheryl.
  • Shared accommodation (with your own room) in a spacious fully equipped 2 bedroom apartment with its own lounge, kitchen, balcony, and swimming pool.
  • Locally sourced provisions provided so that you can create healthy breakfasts and lunches.
  • Three course dinner each evening in a local restaurant with drinks included.
  • Transfers to and from the airport in Spain (when you travel with the group to and from Malaga).
  • Guided walks with Rebecca Adams from European Coaching Retreats.

This retreat has been developed so that you get one-to-one support. We stay in a comfortable apartment complex in a small village nestled in the Andalucian Mountains.

As well as coaching and mentoring support, we have the services of Rebecca Adams from European Coaching Retreats who will be looking after us, so you don't need to worry about learning the lingo, and everything is looked after for you from the moment you land in Spain to the day you leave.

Having lived in the village herself, Rebecca’s local knowledge means that you get the added bonuses of meeting the local tradespeople and seeing things of interest that you might ordinarily miss.

How to book your place

The total cost of the retreat is £2000 inclusive of everything outlined above.

Upgrade: To my 12 month Book Mentoring Programme to get intensive one-to-one support and a fully inclusive place on the retreat.

Please note that you must arrange your own holiday insurance and flights (flight details will be provided). UK transfers are not included.

I understand that you might still have some questions. It's a big thing writing a book and although you know it's important to you, there may be something that stops you.

If you're anything like most people, you'll probably be worrying about the investment. Now here's the thing, when you've written your book it will set you aside from others and it will put you in a different league from your peers - and you'll certainly be raising your fees.

Let me compare this. A half-board holiday in Spain in a private villa with pool could cost you around £2000 for a week, and that's not including the private transfer. A typical VIP day with me costs £1200.

When you're joining us for the writing retreat, you are getting a five day break away with extensive support, breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks, and accommodation included.

Think of it as a holiday-feel with a purpose that you can include on your tax return!

From my experience, it's amazing the little nuggets that pop out whilst on a walk, in a chat over dinner, as well as in the formal one-to-one and group sessions.

I want to give you the gift of time. Being in Spain, the pace of life slows down, you'll become more focused and productive without day-to-day distractions getting in your way.

I do hope to see you in Spain!

PS If you have any further questions, please contact me to arrange a chat or call 023 9200 6418.

Case study from the 2016 writing retreat

When Martine was asked the question- the retreat was like what? She said:

It was very professional and it was in a very cool environment and I got so much clarity.

As facilitators, you complement each other so well. In my mind I had so many goals and high expectations of myself to write lots. I felt I had to make the most of the time. I put huge amounts of pressure on myself because it was the first time I had left my boys for that length of time and as a result I found myself feeling very emotional.

Thanks to the magical space and the high quality of facilitation I was able to work through those feelings and gain clarity of the structure I needed to not only create space in mind to write on the retreat but also to set myself up for success when I returned.

Many things have changed as a result of the retreat but the most magical for me is the dynamics between my partner and my son. There has been such a massive shift. I know it is me that has changed and yet they also seem to have changed. I am aware I am being different and so things are different with them too. Just sharing my story made me realise how important it is for me to share my experience to prevent others from suffering with their money story that keeps them trapped in a prison.

I now feel more respected and more loving.

I am now able to do and ask for the things that feed my own needs. And it is like the calmness and tranquillity of the retreat has come home with me and I now feel more present with my teenage son and more able to listen, advise and coach him through his anger, fear and frustrations.

With regards to business I am more disciplined with my time and the more I write the more clarity and confidence I gain about how I work and how I add value. And even when I am not writing the ideas, case studies and evidence I formulating in my mind. I feel lighter in myself and like there is less pressure and I can already feel clients being attracted to me.

And it is the little things that I would not have expected from the retreat that have also created changes. The simple act of you sharing my story on Facebook and tagging me meant that my friends became aware that I was writing a book and that gave me the confidence to talk to them about it and now I have support and encouragement.

The video interviews we did in the pool for fun gave me an experience of video marketing that I felt comfortable with and I know that will have an impact when it comes to promoting my book. I am not sure what you did but I now understand how to feel more and be more natural when talking on video. I think that is because we just had a go with no pressure, the positive feedback and the fact I am really engaging with my story and the power of it.

"Inspired in the mountains!"

This writing retreat has given me the time and space to form new habits and I know this will have a knock on effect on my life.

I've loved the fact that it has been fairly unstructured but Karen has been on hand and going with the group's needs each day.

The best thing is that I can see the end of my book - and I've planned 2 more!

"Clarity and focus"

In the space of 5 days I have come up with a business and action plan that makes sense and is aligned and interconnected. I had no idea this is what the retreat would give me so, being open to go with the ‘flow’ has surprised me by the outcome and clarity that has emerged.

I’m very, very grateful for this and also for Karen’s gentle encouragement, ideas and support to make it happen.”

"The perfect retreat!"

This has been the best retreat for book writing and learning. Karen gave great support and encouragement, touching base with us, giving us intensive support when required, and the space to get on with our writing.

Everything was organised in conjunction with a local host who gave us all the best local food, cheese, and sights, without taking away valuable time for writing.

The location was lovely with beautiful scenery. It was the perfect retreat and highly recommended.
